Goals:
Enhance Food Security: Improve household food security by providing timely and adequate food assistance.
Increase Economic Resilience: Empower vulnerable households with cash transfers to support their essential needs and stimulate local economies.
Support Vulnerable Populations: Target assistance to the most vulnerable groups, including women, children, and the elderly.
Promote Sustainable Livelihoods: Facilitate the transition from emergency assistance to sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Improve Community Well-being: Strengthen community resilience to future shocks and stresses through comprehensive support mechanisms.
Expected Outcomes:
Improved Food Security: At least 80% of the 2,000 targeted households report improved food security within 12 months of receiving assistance. Each household receives a combination of food assistance and cash transfers, tailored to their specific needs.
Economic Resilience: Beneficiary households report a 40% increase in their ability to meet essential needs, such as food, healthcare, and education, within three months of the project’s implementation. The project targets 2,000 households in various districts of Farah, focusing on those most affected by food insecurity and economic instability.
Empowered Vulnerable Populations: Specific focus on women-headed households and other vulnerable groups, with 70% of women-headed households showing improved financial stability and food security. The project collaborates with local authorities, community leaders, and NGOs to ensure effective targeting and delivery of assistance.
Stimulated Local Economy: Cash-based transfers inject significant funds into local markets, stimulating economic activity and supporting local vendors and farmers.
Enhanced Livelihood Opportunities: 50% of beneficiary households use part of their cash transfers to invest in small-scale income-generating activities, leading to improved household income levels.
Community Resilience: Communities report a 30% increase in collective resilience measures, such as savings groups and community emergency plans, as a result of the project's initiatives. The project provides 12 months of cash-based transfers and food assistance, with an emphasis on continuous support to ensure long-term benefits.
